PSA: CommuteInfo is looking to add vanpool riders for commuter routes to Oakland and Downtown

Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission CommuteInfo program is looking for individuals interested in joining vanpool groups with routes into Oakland and Downtown Pittsburgh.

Joining a vanpool can help save all riders money while reducing private vehicle wear and tear and making your ride to work more comfortable. In Southwestern PA, CommuteInfo's over 6,100 members have saved over 90,500 gallons of gas and over $1.4M cash through the program.

Vanpools are one of the most convenient and efficient commuter ridesharing strategies available in our region! The CommuteInfo program is actively seeking commuters who start their commutes from the areas listed below with an end destination anywhere in Oakland or Downtown Pittsburgh—including anyone who simply travels using these routes/corridors.

To participate, riders do not have to start from the exact locations listed below. Anyone who lives along one of these routes and travels to the same general area could be a great fit for a new vanpool group.

CommuteInfo is currently seeking riders for the following routes:

  • Cranberry Township to Downtown/Oakland
  • Greensburg/Irwin area to Downtown/Oakland
  • Kittanning to Downtown/Oakland
  • Weirton, WV to Downtown/Oakland
  • Washington/Canonsburg area to Downtown/Oakland
  • Belle Vernon to Downtown/Oakland
  • Gibsonia to Downtown/Oakland

If you think that any of these routes might align with your commute, CommuteInfo would love to hear from you! Whether you're ready to join a group immediately or you just want to see how your schedule compares to others and have a few questions, expressing your interest helps move the process forward.

The best next step for interested parties is to email Bill Whiteside at william.whiteside@em.com. Any level of interest or questions are encouraged!
