PennDOT District 11 is announcing ramp closures on inbound (northbound) Boulevard of the Allies (Route 885) in the City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, will occur this weekend, Friday night, May 31 through Monday morning, June 3 weather permitting.
The northbound Boulevard of the Allies will close to traffic near Bluff Street from 8 p.m. Friday night continuously through 6 a.m. Monday morning requiring the closure of the following ramps:
- Northbound Boulevard of the Allies ramp to the Liberty Bridge/Route 19/51
- Northbound Boulevard of the Allies ramp to Veterans Bridge/I-579 North/I-279 North
Local traffic will be permitted on the Boulevard of the Allies to the intersection of Bluff Street and Stevenson Street. All other traffic will be detoured.

Boulevard of the Allies to the Liberty Bridge
- From westbound (inbound) I-376 (Parkway East), continue to Grant Street (Exit 71A)
- From Grant Street, turn right onto the Boulevard of the Allies
- Turn right onto the Liberty Bridge
- End detour
Boulevard of the Allies to Veterans Bridge/I-579 North/I-279 North
- From westbound (inbound) I-376 (Parkway East), continue to the Fort Duquesne Bridge/North Shore (Exit 70C)
- Cross the Fort Duquesne Bridge
- Follow the signs to I-279 North
- Motorists can continue to northbound I-279 or northbound Route 28
- End detour
I-579 Ramps to Convention Center/7th Avenue
- From westbound (inbound) I-376 (Parkway East), continue to Grant Street (Exit 71A)
- Follow Grant Street to 7th Avenue
- End detour
Centre Avenue/PPG Arena, and Bigelow Boulevard East Route 380
- From westbound (inbound) I-376 (Parkway East), continue to Grant Street (Exit 71A)
- Follow Grant Street to 7th Avenue
- Turn right onto 7th Avenue
- Follow signs to PPG Arena or Bigelow Boulevard
- End detour
Crews from Swank Construction Company LLC will conduct bridge deck repair and barrier repair work, substructure cleaning, drainage improvements, pavement marking and other miscellaneous construction activities. Additionally, contracted crews for Duquesne University will conduct painting operations on the overhead pedestrian bridge over the Boulevard of the Allies.
