Bike Share Pittsburgh has announced plans for the next POGOH bikeshare network expansion which includes an anticipated 53 new stations, though the timeline for installation does not begin until 2025 as equipment delivery schedules continue to be developed.
This "Phase 3" expansion includes stations to be installed at many former Healthy Ride locations, aims to fill coverage gaps, and prioritizes Justice40 neighborhoods – helping to restore service to several communities who were previously supported or historically under-served by the bikeshare network. The proposed expansion plans aim to build greater density and connectivity in some of Pittsburgh's existing neighborhoods, as well, and build brand new connections in several new neighborhoods. Grant funding requires that 51 of these new stations are located within the city limits, and that 2 are located in Wilkinsburg.
As part of this effort, POGOH is collecting community feedback for all proposed station locations, which can be submitted via the POGOH website via an interactive map on a station-by-station basis. Community members can also suggest an entirely new, unique location that is outside of the planned Phase 3 footprint by completing the Suggest a Station form.
Note: The last, Phase 2, expansion was completed in Spring 2023 with the addition of 22 stations. Phase 1 was introduced in 2022.
