Forbes Ave & Braddock Ave Traffic Signal Replacement Projects in design phase — construction set to begin this summer

Currently in the design phase, this project involves the complete replacement of the traffic signal at the intersection of Forbes Avenue and Braddock Avenue. This project is funded by PennDOT's Green Light-Go Program, which is a competitive state grant program designed to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals located throughout Pennsylvania.

The project scope includes the complete redesign of the traffic signal infrastructure at this intersection. Upgrades include:

  • Improved intersection layout
  • New traffic poles
  • 12" vehicular signal heads with backplates
  • Traffic pole-mounted LED streetlights
  • Pedestrian countdown signals
  • Accessible pedestrian signals
  • ADA curb ramp construction
  • Signing and pavement marking improvements

GET INVOLVED: This project is currently in the design phase. The City invites interested residents to complete this public survey. A community meeting was held regarding this project in September.

SCHEDULE: Estimated completion has still not been determined, but construction is set to begin in this summer 2024.
